Introduction

Thank you very much for visiting my website . I am a self-taught artist with a passion for watercolour based in Wiltshire in England, my subjects are mainly landscapes , skies and seascapes .

I love the transparency of watercolour and the way that it creates its own unique look on the paper as the colours run together. I particularly enjoy trying to capture light in my paintings. I am drawn to landscapes, skies and seascapes as my main subjects but also enjoy the dynamics of urban scenes

I have sold many watercolours on my Etsy website (Etsy is an online marketplace that sells handmade items) and have been delighted to hear the lovely feedback from those who have bought them. Very often they have evoked wonderful emotions and memories and that is tremendously rewarding to know how much joy they have brought

Original Watercolours

All my paintings that you see here and on my Etsy site are all original watercolours painted using the highest quality professional artist's paints on 100% cotton watercolour paper to give the absolute best results. Most of them are 15x11 inches (38x28cm) and look best with a mount of about 7.5cm width which means a 20x16 inch (50x40cm) frame is ideal .There are links within the paintings in the Gallery Sections that will take you straight to the relevant listing on Etsy where you will also see digital mock ups of what the painting will look like in various frame and mount combinations. And should you wish to buy any paintings then you can do so easily via the Etsy website.

Inspiration

I draw inspiration from a variety of sources and have been influenced both by the great artists of the past such as JMW Turner and Monet and also by more recent artists like Ted Seago and Edward Wesson and today's artists including Thomas Schaller, Joseph Zbukvic, Alvaro Castagnet and Javid Tabatabei
